FREEPLAY and LEARNING CENTERS
Freeplay includes child-directed stations with puzzles, books, blocks, legos, trains, magnifying glasses, dress-ups, and the list continues. Learning centers include shapes, geoboards, letters, numbers, and Mozart/Vangogh coloring sheets.

CIRCLE TIME
Circle Time encompasses a name game, singing, instruments, puppets, music and movement ABC/123 games, and individual student sharing. After circle time, children are given their sequencing art projects before going to the art table.

SEQUENCING ART
Projects for the week include self portraits, confetti hands, handprints/footprints and a "My Family" collage. Upon completion, children place their work in their cubbies and then find their star charts for a reward sticker before having their snack at the circletime area.

SNACKS, STORIES, CREATIVE ART, AND TABLEWORK
When we return to the circletime area, we will have our healthy snacks (fruit, veggies, crackers). Then, our Book Nook Time features stories and sharing about Mozart and VanGogh. As the children finish their snacks, they complete a final tablework project and then line up for outdoor play.

OUTDOOR/MOVEMENT
We'll form a line and head for our potty break before going outdoors for some traditional exercises (Big Ben, Washing Machine, Jumping Jacks, etc), a couple of games (Red Light Green Light and Red Rover), and freeplay on the playground structure(s).

CIRCLE TIME
Goodbye Circle Time includes rhythm sticks, percussion and/or keyboard (intro Suzuki lessons), discussion of letters and words, and stickers for each child's star chart at dismissal.

self portrait September 18-22, 25-29: My Five Senses!

The last days of September will focus on the five senses. We'll focus our special projects on senses-related activities, arts, and crafts projects. We will also be conducting a few science experiments related to our senses! Specifically, September 19-23 will encompass Sight and Sound activities regarding Starry Night, Meet the Orchestra, and What's That Sound. The next week, September 26-30, will carry along the Five Senses theme and discuss Taste, Smell, and Touch with activities such as a Sweet/Sour Taste Test, Name the Smell, and a collage entitled "It Feels....". We will finish out the month with a super-fun activity called Popcorn and My Five Senses!
